of Portugal - Cookie's Bar A little known private members' club was discovered in our Cascais (LIsbon) stopover. Open to the crew of London and a select few others, the bar was located on the third floor of the Village Cascais hotel. Over the course of several evenings the members were able to enjoy the contents of several mini-bars at extremely competitive rates. Nonetheless, I understand that the proprietor has now run away to sea, following a rather large bar bill. Cookie's Cookies Cookie's bar closed on our departure from Portugal. Cookie's the bakers is now open. Selling white and brown bread by the loaf, and white and brown rolls for lunch, Cookie yesterday produced a new line imaginatively marketed as Cookie's cookies - an ironic, post-modern dish comprising cookie mix spread unevenly in the bottom of a pan and edible only by way of a spoon and tissue.
